Prioritising Wellbeing in a Busy World
Every year on 10th October, World Mental Health Day invites us to pause, reflect, and raise awareness of the importance of looking after our mental wellbeing. This year’s theme, “Access to services ”, highlights how essential it is to make mental health a priority in every part of our lives.
At Centaur Counselling, we see every day how much courage it takes to reach out for support. Mental health struggles are incredibly common—yet stigma, shame, and fear of being a burden still prevent many people from talking openly. World Mental Health Day is a reminder that none of us are alone, and that help is available. Centaur also offers concessionary rates - as counselling should be an option for all !

Why Mental Health Matters for Everyone
It’s universal: Just as we all have physical health, we all have mental health that needs attention and care.
It changes: Our wellbeing can shift with life events, relationships, stress, or trauma. It’s normal to have ups and downs.
It’s connected: Our mental and physical health are deeply linked—stress, anxiety, and low mood can all affect our bodies, and vice versa.
Small Steps Towards Better Mental Health
Talk about it: Share how you’re really feeling with someone you trust.
Prioritise rest: Sleep, breaks, and downtime are vital, not optional.
Stay connected: Community and belonging are powerful buffers against stress.
Seek support: Whether through friends, groups, or counselling, support makes a difference.
How Counselling Can Help
Counselling provides a safe, non-judgemental space to explore what you’re going through. It can help you:
Understand and manage your emotions.
Break free from unhelpful patterns.
Build resilience and self-compassion.
Move towards a stronger, healthier sense of self.
On World Mental Health Day—and every day—our message is simple: your mental health matters. Reaching out for help is not a weakness, but a step towards healing and strength.
